Alcudia, a treasure along the Coast of Mallorca

Duration: 3 h Intensity: Intermediate

Alcudia is a walled city from the late Middle Ages that is worth visiting. Discover its Greek, Phoenician and Roman origins. If you like photography, don't forget to immortalize the Oratory of Santa Anna, a 13th-century building located between Alcudia and its port.

An ancient city with a rich history

Alcudia is not situated directly on the coast. You will need to travel a few kilometers inland, but it is worth visiting this walled city from the beginning of the 14th century. As early as the 2nd century BC, the Romans succeeded the Greeks and Phoenicians as settlers in the area, turning the city the capital of the island.

Between Alcudia and its port, there is the Oratory of Santa Anna, a 13th-century building built by Diego Español that will be worth photographing.

Walk through the old town on foot and wander through its narrow streets within the city walls to feel yourself transported to the time of James I of Spain.
