At Alma Cruceros, I am proud that my ship, the Ocean Victory, is one of the most sustainable boutique cruise ships in the world. This ship is part of a new generation of vessels that has managed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 60%, compared to other cruise ships of the same size. All this is accomplished thanks to revolutionary advances in shipbuilding. My commitment to sustainability is not just a simple makeup, but an effort for the real and tangible reduction of the environmental impact of my cruise ships.

It all starts with design and technical innovations which have helped reduce the daily consumption of the ship by less than half, such as the drive shafts that operate at a fixed rotation per minute, regulating the speed of the ship through the passage of the propeller blades. This system allows significant fuel savings by avoiding sudden accelerations. Also, it optimizes the energy generated, reusing it for propulsion and other ship systems, all computer controlled to adjust consumption in real time.

In addition, one of the most distinctive features of the Ocean Victory is its inverted X bow, developed by the Norwegian shipyard Ullstein. This innovative design allows the boat to “cut” through the waves instead of displacing them, considerably reducing hydrodynamic resistance and improving stability. Combined with Rolls Royce stabilizers, which keep my ship in balance even in the most complex sailing conditions, these innovations not only ensure the comfort of my passengers, but also reduce fuel consumption and, consequently, carbon emissions.
