Explore the bohemian and Mediterranean soul of Antibes, a corner full of history, art and intense flavors. From its ramparts facing the sea to a glass of absinthe in an ancient wine cellar, this experience is a journey between eras and emotions.
History, flavors and the scent of the Mediterranean
We start the route from Villefranche, along the spectacular Corniche towards Antibes, one of the oldest cities in France, founded in the 5th century BC by Greek merchants. We enter the old town through the Porte Maritime, where a walking tour begins through a maze of narrow streets adorned with flowers, between stone walls and echoes of Roman and medieval times.
The 16th century walls, which still embrace the old city, offer unforgettable views of the Mediterranean. Near the market, we stop at a 9th century vaulted cellar with an ancient Roman well, converted into a store selling local specialties. There, a very special tasting awaits us: olive oil, regional products and a glass of absinthe, the drink that inspired artists such as Van Gogh or Toulouse-Lautrec.
After this tour of history and sensations, you will have free time to wander through the streets of Antibes before returning to Nice.
